Fermenter + Hoppers

When using a hopper to pull completed brews out of a fermenter, the fermenter breaks and isn't able to start a new brew of alcohol.

TLDR: If you don't manually take out drinks, it breaks.

Please fix this bug, it's horrible having to make the drinks one by one.
It completely removes the interest in crafting them.

Bump. Just discovered this issue in BM Revelations II and it has really thrown off my plan to make one billion beers. Any update here?

Upon further reading it does not seem likely this mod will see any more fixes or updates.
For anyone who finds this, I managed to get around the problem using Refined Storage. Basically, you must automatically destroy and replace the Fermenter after each craft if you want to automate the whole process.

Set it up with two Exporters filtered to insert your plant of choice in the top and bottles in the side. These need a Regulator Upgrade to ensure they only export one item at a time into the Fermenter.

On another two sides of the Fermenter, place a Constructor (filtered to Fermenter) and a Destructor. Set the Destructor to only work without a redstone signal, and place a redstone torch behind it. Beneath it, place a comparator. The comparator should point to the block that the redstone torch is on and be activated. On the other side of the comparator, place a hopper (should be beneath the fermenter) to pull out the craft result. Beneath the hopper, place a chest, and import back to your RS system from that.

So, the system should export one plant and one bottle into the Fermenter. It will do its thing and the hopper will send the result into your chest. The chest will trigger the comparator, which will flick off the redstone torch and enable the Destructor. Then, the Constructor will simply place the Fermenter again and the process will repeat.

Unfortunately the Exporters will replace the plant/bottle faster than the Destructor can remove the Fermenter. You could potentially add more redstone to this setup which causes them to wait until the Fermenter has been replaced, but personally I just set up a Vaccuum Chest (EnderIO) to collect the dropped items each cycle and import them back into the system as well. If you have quite a few Fermenters set up as above (which, since they are so slow, you probably will), then it's easier and more efficient to simply build several 'modules' within range of a single Vacuum Chest.
