Option to trigger the lower third of the current event manually

The lower thirds feature is awesome, but I would love the option to choose between it being fired automatically with the start of my timer event, or me manually firing the lower third.
I think this would be very helpful for the situation where my speaker is already on stage and his timer has started, but maybe I want to start with a camera perspective that is not suitable for a lower third to be overlayed, and when I switch to his portrait I would play the lower third manually.

Is it an option for you to hold on mounting the view until you need it? That is likely the simplest solution

To create a feature like this there are a few usability decisions we need to make.

• How and where is the interface for controlling the lower thirds?
• How do the options interact with the in-view options?
• How should external devices (like companion) manipulate the feature?

Perhaps you have availability to suggest some solutions? That would go a long way into making this a feature in the future

Thanks for the fast reply!
Of course I could wait with overlaying the lower third view to the camerasignal in my switcher, but this way I would have to extend the appearance time of the animation in order to display it e.g. 90 secs after my timer started. This would lead to loosing the wipe in and wipe out effects of the lower thirds, as I don’t know when exactly I can overlay the view.

My idea for an implementation would be a checkbox named „show lower third automatically“ (I don’t know how much work this would be for you, but it would be awesome to predefine the state of that checkbox in a dedicated column via you spreadsheet implementation) in the editior of each event, letting me choose whether the lower third is being displayed automatically in it’s viewer as soon as I start the event, or don’t start the lower third when the box is unchecked.
It would be nice to then have a button below the „show aux timer“ and „show external“ buttons, which looks just like the other buttons but says something like „show lower third“ and is able to be triggered by mainly companion or maybe other connections.
