I am documenting this as there was an issue with installing the demo-website using the contao-manager and not being prompted to create your own user-account for the contao-backend -> see related ticket: contao/contao-manager#899

Rethinking the installation process of Contao but that would need to first have a proper concept.

This should be reverted. The Contao Demo should always have the k.jones admin enabled, irrespective of the Contao Manager.

If you install the Contao Demo, no matter how, it needs to work as advertised and as documented. I.e. you should immediately be able to login with the account as described in the demo itself.

The issue you are referring to is an issue with the Contao Manager, not with the demo.

You are right that the documentation in the website of the demo could be improved upon now but there is no documentation in contao.docs.org or in the Manager that ever mentions the login of k.jones and their credentials.

This is an issue in the Contao Manager, not the Contao Demo. The Contao Demo is not made for the Contao Manager. The start page of the Contao Demo tells you to log in with k.jones.

What do you mean specifically?

After the process of the Manager, and the manager should not be aware of the demo or any theme, you have two options:

1. Use the Contao-Manager
2. Go into the Contao-Backend

You are in a deadlock right now after installing the demo and you do not know at all what credentials to use. The homepage of the demo should not be the only place documenting the password, I also don't think that the manager should document the credentials of k.jones, nor should the official contao documentation.

You should be able to create your own credentials, which they do when the admin account is disabled. The Contao Manager now prompts you to create your own account (by design)

The Contao Manager is already aware of the demo (otherwise it would not offer its installation). And regardless, other installable Contao projects (like the Isotope Demo) also might come with their own admin accounts. So this needs to be addressed in the Contao Manager in any case.

Why was that put there? If you install the Contao demo, you already have an admin account, as described in the Contao demo itself. You can of course create additional ones or edit the existing one if you like, but it is not required if you just want to demo/try Contao.

Of course the public demo has additional adjustments - but not when it comes to its actual content (or at least it shouldn't, otherwise that would be confusing).
