Building on Windows

Hey there,
Did you ever try to get this to work on Windows? I have been trying to get a .dll to build with Visual Studio but it's proving quite complicated (also because I'm not used to windows and VS myself).

Maybe it would be easier to write a simple Makefile and build using MinGW on windows? I am not sure whether this will make more problems with binary compatibility etc. though.
