You can already download it on the Appstore for M series macs. I have a dozen or so users using it that way. But, a . DMG will be cleaner. I'll look into making that possible.

With the latest update, there's side by side drawer view too, so it should look much better as well.

Yeah it works ina basic basic. I'm looking for something a bit more integrated (like a hotkey to popup a small window, etc)

Hey @mcowger I saw this and ended up building it. It's called Oval, a native SwiftUI macOS client for Open WebUI.

Going through your wishlist, most of the starred items are done:

• Hotkey mini window - Ctrl+Space, ChatGPT-style floating panel
• Full window hotkey - Ctrl+Option+Space
• Copy result to clipboard - Cmd+Shift+C
• Paste clipboard into mini chat - Ctrl+Shift+V
• Always on top - Cmd+Option+T
• Esc to close - works on both windows
• Launch at login - in Settings
• Menu bar item - with quick actions
  Speech-to-text works but uses Apple's native SFSpeechRecognizer, not MLX yet. The local file @mentions and virtual file system aren't built yet either.
  What's still WIP:
• Conversation rename
• Chat pagination (only loads page 1)
• SSO/OAuth (only email+password and API key for now)

Going on the Mac App Store soon. Happy to hear feedback if you give it a try.

Shipped v1.1.0, voice mode works end to end now. Mic → on-device Whisper STT → your Open WebUI server → on-device Piper TTS → speaker. Opens in a floating window like ChatGPT. Multiple STT/TTS models to pick from in Settings. Chat play button uses the on-device voice too.

STT runs via ONNX and WhisperKit (CoreML/Neural Engine) using runanywhere. The SDK supports MLX as a backend too so that's doable down the line.
