After reboot, can no longer activate caffeine

I installed yesterday, tested it and the applet was working great. Today, when I started my laptop, the panel icon appears, and I can access the dialog, but clicking the "Start Caffeine" button does nothing.

I looked for the file in /tmp to see if that was the problem, but it did not exist.

any ideas?

Installed on Pop OS 24.04 (COSMIC).

OK - removing the applet from the panel and re-adding it has cleared this issue and the applet is working again. If it survives the next reboot I will assume this was a one-time glitch and close this issue.
