ctrl-c on command line to kill cinema gui

When I am done using the cinema gui, often the first thing I do to close it is ctrl-c on the process. I've seen other users try this as well. Unfortunately, that does not close the cinema gui. You have to find the window (which sometimes is buried under a bunch of other windows) and close it from the gui. It would be great if ctrl-c on the command line killed the cinema process.
