Unable to find Bifrost intance - Pairing button?

Hi,

Firstly, thanks for a great emulator!

I currently use Philips Hue with an app called "Sleep Cycle" (https://support.sleepcycle.com/hc/en-us/articles/207670385-Sleep-Cycle-and-Phillips-Hue-Integration) and it works wonderfully.

I was wondering is there a way to press the "pairing button" within Bifrost as I cannot seem to get it to find the emulated hub with Sleep Cycle.
The same goes for the real Hue hub I have - I always have to press the button for it to show up in the app.

I've looked at both hubs description.xml's and can see that the only real difference is that the Hue Hub has the port number in the URL base:

I am wondering if this is causing my issue of not finding the bridge with my app.

Is there a way to virtually press the pairing button to see if that does the trick as I really want to throw my Hue Bridge away! :)

Hello @oneseventhree, and thanks for the detailed issue!

As discussed on discord, the Bifrost "button" is always pressed, so there's no way to press it "more" (and no need to).

From what I can tell from discord, it sounds like the Sleep Cycle app is unfortunately hard-coded to work with the discovery.meethue.com-based discovery mechanism.

According a diyHue developer (@hendriksen-mark), this is only supported with a Hue account.

Unfortunately, this does not leave us many options. We do not have access to the Hue Account infrastructure, and we cannot change how the Sleep Cycle app is made.

I would recommend contacting the author(s) of the Sleep Cycle app, and hear if they are willing to look at this issue.

@oneseventhree Are you sure home assistant can do that? Or is that what we assume?

I'll admit, there are quite a few unknowns in this, and unfortunately I can't test, since I don't have any apple hardware.

@oneseventhree I assume you have an iPhone - do you also run Home Assistant? Could you help test if emulated_hue actually works when trying to connect Sleep Cycle? It would be very helpful to know if it indeed Does The Thing.

If it does connect, I'd say there's a pretty good chance we can make Bifrost work too (unless Sleep Cycle has made a Home Assistant-specific workaround).

However, if it doesn't connect, then the chance to get Bifrost working is probably not that good either.
