The KX165 manual (p. 3-1) shows that there are R and T chars displayed when receiving and transmitting.
It would be cool to have these in the sim. They are already in the texture at least.
The "R" should be highlighted when:
- Squelch is manually turned down to (when static is audible)
- A station is tuned and in range (ATIS, ... see existing properties)
- a property is set, like from FGCom-mumble
The "T" should be highlighted when the radios ptt property is 1.
Also, the KX165 has a "stuck mic" feature (p. 3-3) that should be modeled at least visually:
The unit is placed in the transmit mode by depressing the MIC KEY button. The unit has a stuck
microphone alert feature. If the microphone is keyed continuously for greater than 33 seconds,
the transmitter stops transmitting and the active Comm frequency flashes to alert the pilot of the
stuck microphone condition.
