Every content team asks the same question before hitting publish: "What has everyone else already written about this?" No CMS answers it. Numen can — and the answer should shape what gets generated.
The Problem
Content teams waste hours manually checking what competitors have published before briefing writers (human or AI). Even with AI generation, the output often mirrors what's already ranking, producing "me-too" content.
Current CMS AI tools (Directus's AI Assistant, Sanity's integrations, Ghost's Koenig editor) generate content in a vacuum. They don't know what's already been said.
A two-agent sub-pipeline that runs as an optional Brief enrichment step:
Phase 1: Research Agent (Gap Detection)
Given the content brief topic/keywords, the Research Agent queries:
Top 5-10 SERP results for target keywords
Configured competitor domains (user-defined list)
Numen's own published content (to avoid self-cannibalization)
Outputs a structured Content Landscape Report:
What's already covered extensively
What angles are underserved
Contrarian positions available
Questions people ask that existing content doesn't answer
Phase 2: Differentiation-Aware Generator
The standard Generate step receives the Content Landscape Report alongside the brief
System prompt enhanced: "Generate content that fills gap X, takes angle Y, and avoids rehashing Z"
Output includes a Differentiation Score — how unique vs existing content
User Controls
Enable/disable per pipeline run
Configure competitor domain watchlist per project
Choose differentiation strategy: Gap-Fill, Contrarian, Complementary, or Deep-Dive
Why Numen's Architecture Enables This
Numen's multi-agent pipeline can dispatch a Research Agent in parallel while preparing the brief, then join results before generation. Single-agent CMS AI tools (Directus, etc.) cannot do this without a fundamental rethink.
