Color per unitig

Thanks for the great tool!

It seems easy to access the colors per k-mer in a Bifrost made graph, however, I was wondering if it is possible to access a color per unitig, so the whole node not a k-mer?

Bifrost stores the underlying colors per k-mer, but if you're OK with the union of all colors of all k-mers in a unitig, then that's exactly what pyfrost does by default.

# Union of all colors across all k-mers of a unitig starting with k-mer TCGAA
colors = set(g.nodes['TCGAA']['colors']).

You can access the color of a specific k-mer along the unitig as follows:

specific_kmer_colors = set(g.nodes['TCGAA']['colors'][4])

The [index] operation creates a new object on the fly, and is not super efficient. If you need colors per unitig per kmer, it's better to use g.nodes['TCGAA']['color'].pos_color_iter().
