Ryan Lynn, one of the tournament directors (he helps out with several) said the following:

I've stared at the website a while trying to understand your plan, and since I don't know your vision I thought I would kind of explore what my vision would be.

Assumption: Since this is where are the scores are tabulated this could easily be the go to place for people to look at scores for ongoing or past tournaments. I'm going to look at this from two points of view Visitor Vs User/Admin.

Visitor:
Opening page should be tournaments. (I believe this is what I'm seeing now, but there are no page titles to make that clear) Since several tournaments could be happening at the same time some way to search or easily find the one they care about would be helpful.
When the visitor click on the tournament they want, it takes them to a page where they can find the schedule as well as stats. (I think that is maybe what http://qview.quizstuff.com:3000/division is). This page could display the real time scores for each Division, or at least top few teams and individuals. Clicking on the division (they want) could take you to a page that gives you a complete view of the scores.
As a visitor I might not know which division my kid is in, so ways to search by kids name or church or team name.

User/Tournament Admin:
Opening page would be the same as visitors, but once I login in to will go to a page of only the tournaments that I can edit/control with the (in progress or next upcoming tournament) at the top of the list. If the tournament is in progress I would want to see the status of each room (Maybe a tournament monitor page). You have (http://qview.quizstuff.com:3000/roundsinprogress) which would be fine for a small district quiz of 8-10 rooms, but if I'm using that to monitor the progress of larger tournaments with a lot of rooms it would be too much scrolling. It could be condensed down to (Room, Division, Round, Question) and change color if the Quiz master pushed the message button (or there is no "i'm alive" signal from the computer). On my laptop I think I could monitor about 48 rooms with that condensed view put into 3 columns. Probably only Q would need that many rooms watched at one time. Clicking on each room could take me to a more detailed view of what is going on with the room as well as messages from the quizmaster.

If it's upcoming I would want to go directly to the tournament editing tools or at least easy to get to.

Other thoughts

Editing tools:
If you do not intend to integrate schedule creation into the site (because excel exists), I would at least want to be able to edit the schedule within the site, rather than having to upload a corrected excel sheet (.csv).

If you don't want to integrate nazquizzing.org style registration I would want to be able to easily edit the information after upload.

A way to upload scores in case there is a room with no internet access it can still be done.

A way to edit score sheets.

Tournament Brackets:
A way to display tournament Brackets and follow along with who the winners are at each step in real time would be nice.
