help with installation?

Hi, I want to install and try qosmic on Ubuntu 16.04 but although I have plenty of experiences with Ubuntu administration I am unable to finish "qmake".

Debug ends with:

I most likely miss something but cannot solve it. Could you help me please? I would really like to try qosmic because I experiment with fractals - see on http://fractals.freeideas.cz/

Another possibility I was thinking about - could you recommend me Linux distro you use? Even some old one. I tried installations in newly created virtual machines with Ubuntu 14.04 and later 16.04 and both did not work. With many different problems...

I think you are correct. This looks like a problem with qmake.
I don't know about the inner workings of qmake, so I can't give a diagnosis or a solution.
The vpath in a Makefile is used by "make" to locate and create absolute paths to source files for targets.
You could try adjusting the VPATH or DEPENDPATH variables in your qosmic.pro file to see if that helps.
An Ubuntu developer familiar with qmake5 would be a better resource to help you solve this problem.

The program was developed and tested using Gentoo.
There's an ebuild in the dist directory that can be used to install the program using Gentoo if you are interested in going that route.
