add old activity assertions back in

Hi @kumichou. In commit e9ef994 the issue with Zen jiggle was fixed by shifting to a different way of asserting activity. Two older ways of asserting activity were removed in that commit. I think those two older ways should be added back in; I think perhaps their removal has caused Teams not to stay "awake" with Zen jiggle any more, for example (see #43). It's best to indicate activity in all possible ways, for maximum coverage. I think fixing this issue, by restoring those older activity indicators, would probably fix #43. I hadn't thought through the implications of that commit sufficiently when I accepted it, sorry; it had been years since I looked at this code. Now that my head's back in the game, I think it's clear what ought to be done. I can do that if you like, or you can. :->
