more frequent releases

first thank you for making this release, i thought development ceased; and i got informed yesterday about a newer version. (there are people who thought lazpaint gonna be buried underground)

have you thought about more frequent releases? it is not necessary to be fixed release schedule, but something like once a year will indicate that this amazing program is still alive.
even if it is one bug fix or feature added, it still mean a lot and would change people's mind about lazpaint.

p.s. i experienced couple issues and i also had ideas that would improve user experience but i hesitated to sumbit them thinking that nobody would care, and sadly that was long time ago that i dont even remember these suggestions and issues anymore.

I understand that the delay in releasing new versions might give the impression that the program is no longer being updated.

One reason is that I wanted to publish it on Debian, but the process turned out to be rather tedious. That said, I think it would be possible to release more versions even if they’re not submitted to Debian. This would also make it easier to provide beta versions for testing.

To be honest, I’ve slowed down development, so while I still maintain the software, the activity is less intense. However, you are absolutely right that regularly publishing small fixes and improvements is a good way to show the project is still alive. It could even help attract new contributors, which in turn might give the development fresh momentum.

it is unwise IMO; sorry, dont get offended but, in past 2 years period debian changed a lot of stuff regarding packaging, and their policies never been great anyway, and often software dont get be placed in stable mirror.
though i understand why would someone aim for debian, many distros especially in past used to pull packages from debian repos, perhaps some still do, but i believe many distros now have their own ways.

thank you for your time and effort, i was very happy to see a newer version of this amazing program that i use everynow and then.

p.s. im mainly Windows and FreeBSD user,
with linux being least used in general.
