3. After installation, restart VS Code
4. Verify installation: claude --version

After installing dependencies:

1. Restart VS Code
2. Run the "Check Dependencies" command again
3. All dependencies should show as available

Hi there! I was dealing with an issue related to this where all dependencies show as present, but it still won't run. In case anyone else finds this while trying to fix it, here was the issue and my solution:

Claude Code v2.1.63 changed its startup prompt. It no longer prints ? for shortcuts — it now shows bypass permissions on (shift+tab to cycle). The Autopilot extension looks for that old string to know the session is ready, so it never detects that Claude has started.

To fix, patch the session detection in the extension:

Patch the ready-detection to also match the new prompt

Then fully quit and reopen VS Code. Claude Autopilot should start normally.

Note: this will need to be re-applied if the extension updates. Ideally this gets fixed upstream.
