Description
Okay. First, hello to the devs. The project itself is quite curious and even exhilirating. From first try both on my own machine and VM, I saw several pros and cons for me personally and would like you to address it:
Pros:
- All tools in one spot: I love to experiment a lot with Cubic setups and this helps a lot, 'cause, even though I know how to properly set Ubuntu up, I still hate it compared to Arch I used as a daily driver for last 2 years
- Wide range of supported distros: I know there are exclusive to specific distros software, so this also helps out
- Basically dummy-safe: even if there are errors, most of them are solved by restricting stratum's access
Cons:
- Games: Steam behaves weirdly both on native and Proton games (tested on Blood Strike and Awaria: first one just crashes before even showing the game window with the PID error, and Awaria straightly goes to Unity crash assistant, I suppose it's because Steam can't access the Vulkan headers)
- Several Flatpak issues: some Flatpak applications, same Steam, for instance, won't work at all, 'cause it marks the home and root partitions as "external drives", and so on, so it's best to check some more Flatpak apps to nivelate this problem
- Loading time: it became PROGRESSIVELY slower, considering I'm using Arch. Without Bedrock installed, it took ~8 seconds before GreetD appeared (since it utilizes Hyprland as a backend), and with it, it took ~17 seconds (counted from the moment Syslinux gave the command to boot)
- Problems with GrUB: I honestly have no idea why GrUB with Btrfs subvolume management is an issue. Okay I set up Syslinux in 5 minutes for that, but I assure most won't do the same.
