Avoiding multiple binds in hyprland

hyprland.conf has the following comment

# Use defaults Omarchy defaults (but don't edit these directly!)
...
# Change your own setup in these files (and overwrite any settings from defaults!)

However, binds in hyperland are executed "top to bottom" so for example trying to switch SUPER/ALT keys for window/workspace movement in ~/.config/hypr/bingdings.conf doesn't work. Instead the keys end up both cycling windows and switching workspaces. the bindings have to be updated in ~/.local/share/omarchy/default/hypr/bindings/tiling.conf. Is there any way around that?

see comments in bindings.conf at bottom, you need to unbind first

I do that and after a update I can see that both the default omarchy binds and my custom binds are working. for example I have super+k to move focus up, after update and putting my older config(using stow) I can see that doing super k changes the focus as well as opens the keybindings helper.
am I doing something wrong here ?
