Description
Something many online tutoring sites have is reputation scores for the tutors. This provides students looking for tutoring another data point to use when making a selection.
Some design ideas:
Have a column in the tutor profile for reputation score. The value of the field may be blank (in whch case the reputation is unknown), or it may be something like "barrybecker4:97,369andwind:56,jarjarbinks:73". The format of the value is :,...
The reputation will be the average of the scores for all the unique users that rated that tutor. Storing who gave which score provides more info, and prevents certain sorts of abuse. When its time to display the reputation score in the info field, the average will be used.
When a tutee fills out the "Tutee session completed" form, we can have a script that updates the reputation field in the tutor profile spreadsheet. If the user has alread given a rating, the latest one will be used.
