Smartsim not updating the workspace

Hi, I just discovered smartsim today. Installed the git version (r75.13e0f52). The build process reported some warnings, but finished OK. Smartsim starts ok, but the workspace area (the white area where components are placed) doesn't get updated. I noticed this because in the command line (I start smartsim from there) reports "component added", and if I resize the window then I get to see it. I can open projects but the same thing happens, even when running simulations.
I run arch linux with gnome (currently version 3.26). Are you aware of this issue, or can I provide extra information to debug it (if so please advice what info woud be required)?

Hi,

There have been some substantial changes to the rendering code that haven't yet made their way into the master branch. Some of these changes fixed various unreported issues.

You could try checking out the reorganise branch and try to compile the Vala code in that.

Assuming you have valac installed, try the following:

git clone https://github.com/ashleynewson/SmartSim
cd SmartSim
git checkout reorganise
( cd vala ; make )
vala/smartsim

The reorganise branch has a few other fixes in it, so it should generally work better. Installing is currently unsupported though. I also test on Arch with Gnome3, so hopefully it should work.
