I know you said no, at least for now, for stuff like Jellyfin/Plex streaming integration but it would be really nice if we could have at least the ability to connect to a music directory on a NAS and play from it. Right now when i add the location, it does work actually. But it breaks after every reboot, it's like as if when mounted, a new string is generated under /run/flatpak/.../directory
I could try and use other software but i just love mtoc, it's so cool so i really wanna make it work. I tried using NFS to no avail

Okay so im actually new to Linux, and after digging around, turns out it's a Flatpak issue when the app is run in a sandbox so it doesn't have direct access to the folders? I tried giving it direct access but the mapped directory would still go through the portal and not be mapped with the actual directory. I noticed you have RPM version for Fedora, which wouldn't work for Zorin OS (or other Ubuntu distros). Could you please make a deb/AppImage version, thanks a lot.

Thanks for your feedback. Yes, this is a limitation of Flatpack where it points to a portal path, which can break with a NAS mount point. One workaround to try (if you haven't already) is to give mtoc access to your full home directory, where GVFS mounts appear:

flatpak override --user org._3fz.mtoc --filesystem=home

A .deb package is definitely something I'm considering. In the meantime, let me know if the override works for your setup.

it works and doesn't show "Portal: directory" for Home and up, i modified the command to also allow the mount and it shows up as well from the "ls /media" But it wouldn't recognize in mtoc. I might try to mount it somewhere else but it might be risky.

Good news, as i mentioned before, i noticed that your command makes it at least let mtoc have direct access to /home/user. So i decided to mount it under /home/user/Mounts/[[the mount]]
And it definitely seem to work. Neat workaround. Deb package would be greatly appreciated if you ever decide to release.

To recap i just made NFS mount (using Simple NFS UI), used the command above and mount it in any directory under /home/user
You can definitely do it manually
sudo nano /etc/fstab
and add
[[ip address]]:/mnt/user/serverdirectory /home/user/Mounts/localdirectory nfs users,noauto,hard,i>

So i restarted and it definitely works, one caveat is that the share is not automatically mounted on boot, so you would have click on the share in the Files to mount it, THEN you can play music. Otherwise it's working greatgreat
