Feature Request: Support Claw via CLI in headless/server environment #62

Description

@Aquaakuma

Problem

I would like to use Claw on a headless Pantheon OS server that is only accessible via SSH. However, it appears that Claw currently only provides a web interface.

Use Case

We are running large-scale single-cell analysis pipelines (scRNA-seq, scATAC-seq, etc.) on remote servers. These machines do not have a desktop environment and are managed exclusively through SSH. A web-based interface is not suitable for our workflow because:

  • The servers are often behind strict firewalls or in HPC/cluster environments where exposing web ports is restricted or undesirable.
  • We need to integrate Claw operations into automated shell scripts and workflow tools (Nextflow, Snakemake, etc.).
  • Interactive web access is impractical when managing multiple compute nodes.

Request

Is there currently a way to use Claw functionality through the CLI mode?

If not, I would like to request the addition of a proper CLI interface for Claw (or a CLI-compatible mode), so that core functions can be accessed via command line on headless servers.

Questions

  1. Does Pantheon OS currently provide any CLI alternative to Claw?
  2. Are there plans to support CLI usage of Claw in the future?
  3. What would be the recommended approach in the meantime for users who need to manage Pantheon OS in a server-only environment?

Any guidance or roadmap information would be greatly appreciated.

Environment:

  • Pantheon OS (latest)
  • Headless server
  • Accessible only via SSH
  • Primary workload: Single-cell bioinformatics analysis
