Can't get DDE communication from client to a DDE server on a different computer on the same network

Hello,

I tried everything in the instruction to get the DDE communication to work over local network, my client works fine when communication with a server on the same machine.
I'm using Windows 10 on both machines
I've searched and found this on Microsoft docs

It seems like they stopped supporting it, so I downloaded the exe and the ddl from the internet, manually placed them and still running the exe doesn't make any difference, it doesn't even show in the processes list. This probably means it terminates right away.

Do you have any experience with this or can you provide any help? Thank you so much in advance.

Found that the applications that use it have to be run as administrator on win 10. I can't remember the fix for right now though.
