YourSelfLearning is a browser extension designed to transform social media scrolling into learning opportunities by presenting educational quiz lessons at configurable intervals. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use our extension.

YourSelfLearning stores the following data locally on your device only using your browser's local storage:

Usage Metrics:

  • Scroll count on tracked social media platforms
  • Time spent on tracked platforms (organized by 8-hour periods: morning, afternoon, evening)
  • Number of educational lessons completed
  • Daily comparison data (today vs. yesterday)

Settings and Preferences:

  • Enabled social media platforms for tracking
  • Lesson frequency preferences (often/sometimes/barely)
  • Selected educational themes and topics
  • Brain battery level (gamification metric)

Educational Content Tracking:

  • Lesson completion status and timing
  • Selected lesson themes and topics
  • Random interval tracking for bonus notifications

Data We Do NOT Collect

YourSelfLearning does NOT collect, transmit, or store:

  • Personal identifying information
  • Browsing history outside of scroll tracking on specified platforms
  • Content of websites you visit
  • Login credentials or passwords
  • Email addresses or contact information
  • Financial information
  • Location data
  • Search queries or typed content

How We Use Your Data

All data collected by YourSelfLearning is used exclusively for:

  1. Functionality: Tracking your scrolling behavior and time spent on enabled platforms
  2. Educational Intervention: Triggering lessons at appropriate intervals based on your activity
  3. Progress Tracking: Displaying your daily metrics and comparing with previous days

  • No data is shared with these external websites

Permissions and Their Purpose

YourSelfLearning requests the following browser permissions:

  • Active Tab: To detect when you're on tracked social media platforms
  • Host Permissions (Social Media Sites): To monitor scrolling activity and inject educational content on:
