Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. Wifi Direct to a 2013 Nexus 7 (in a car)

I've attached log files from both devices. Wifi direct works sometimes, then other times it will never connect. Then sometimes it will attempt to connect and show "Android Auto" with the black screen on my Nexus 7 2013 but then immediately disconnect.
