Samsung Dex support/secondary screen?

For the longest time I was using Head unit reloaded up until recently through a touchscreen in my car connected through samsung dex mode until a recent update broke the app entirely and self mode no longer works. Got head unit revived and every time I try to launch in self mode when running samsung dex it launches on my phone screen and not the secondary display. Even if I manage to get it to open on the secondary display it seems to apply the aspect ratio and screen settings on my phone leaving most of the ui broken and cut off, is there any way to fix that on this app?

Yes I was able to get it to work on dex after messing with HUR resolution and a few other settings, just have to re open the app after launching to get it to launch on the secondary screen. I am on one ui 6.1 on a s23u so ymmv as I've heard samsung has changed some things in regards to dex on newer versions.
