OpenMM not recognizing graphics card in WSL enviornment

So I finally got ROCm installed properly in WSL but OpenMM does not seem to be seeing my graphics card (Radeon 9060 XT). Here is the output of python -m openmm.testInstallation:

There are 4 Platforms available:

1 Reference - Successfully computed forces
2 CPU - Successfully computed forces
3 HIP - Error computing forces with HIP platform
4 OpenCL - Error computing forces with OpenCL platform

HIP platform error: Error initializing HIP: hipErrorNoDevice (100) at /home/conda/feedstock_root/build_artifacts/openmm-hip_1723647364383/work/openmm-hip/platforms/hip/src/HipContext.cpp:97

OpenCL platform error: No compatible OpenCL platform is available

Median difference in forces between platforms:

Reference vs. CPU: 6.31434e-06

All differences are within tolerance.

Is there something that I am missing here?

I recommend to use "official" packages, this project is a part of the main OpenMM project since version 8.2. I made some fixes for recent versions of ROCm and for RDNA4, they are not included in this repo.

@jdmaia Hi! Can you achieve this repository and add a description about HIP support in the main project?

I don't have experience with WSL, especially WSL with ROCm.

1. Do any other HIP programs work properly?
2. Try to run with the AMD_LOG_LEVEL=4 environment variable, it may provide some ideas about what exactly happens.
