Position of labels relative to arrows

The TiKZ export uses the quotes notation to place labels relative to arrows, which does not quite have the same effect as yade's rendering algorithm. Could the two be made to agree?

not sure what you mean by placement: above/below or left/right?

Depends on the orientation of the arrow. I presume above/below (not the one about beginning/end of arrow).
