WikiScout is a system that automatically extracts annotations from Simple English Wikipedia to enrich infobox attributes with semantic context. WikiScout transforms free text into parameterized annotations defined over a lexicon of variables created from infobox template names.
Annotations generated by WikiScout increase the recall of the START question answering system nearly six-fold in the task of answering questions from Wikipedia data.
