Please make sure it does not interfere with the Vinegar extension

Currently when Trackless Links is active (even without changing media controls) Vinegar is not working properly. When I want to change the speed of the video the controls for it won't show up.

Hey @albi,

Thanks so much for this excellent bug report! This is a classic (and very tricky) extension conflict, and you've diagnosed it perfectly.

Trackless Links (with its Browser Tweaks for media, as seen in the app's screenshots) and Vinegar are both trying to modify the YouTube player at the same time.

Even if you have the media tweaks toggled off in my app, the content script that checks if it needs to run is likely being injected onto the page, and that initial presence is interfering with Vinegar's script before it can properly load and replace the player.

This is super helpful to know. The best long-term fix is for me to make my script "smarter" so it detects if Vinegar is active and then automatically "backs off" to let it do its job. I've added this to my to-do list to investigate for a future update.

In the meantime, the best workaround is to go into Safari's settings (Settings > Safari > Extensions > Trackless Links) and set the permission for youtube.com to "Off." That will stop my app from injecting any scripts on that specific domain, allowing Vinegar to run without any interference.

great response. just bought the pro version of trackless links :)

the current version blocks vinegar completely. so i have to deactivate trackless links pro on my mac. if i do so, vinegar works.

on iOS and iPadOS i can see a differnt behavior. there everything seems fine.
