Arrowdesigner does not draw an arrow (Windows)

I have not tested this under Linux yet. Under Windows, Arrowdesigner does not draw an arrow. I can make a selection and choose Arrow Designer from Filters > Render > Arrow Designer. With the background colour as white and the foreground colour set to pure red, no arrow is drawn. The layer "arrow" is created but no arrow is drawn. If I then hide the background layer, still nothing is visible. I have attached a video demonstrating this issue.

I found a Windows VM to test on, and just as you say, it doesn't draw anything. I don't know why yet, but I'm working on it.

That's really great to hear. Your plugin is the only of its kind. Being able to render an arrow to a desired size and position is way easier than using a brush and having to manipulate the size, angle and other variables before slapping it down. If this worked on Windows too it would be a real treat.

I narrowed it down a little and filed a gimp bug: https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/gimp/-/issues/13591
It may still be my bug, something that defaults differently on the two platforms, but it seemed worth raising the issue. Either way, hopefully I can get it straightened out quickly.

What Windows version are you using? My VM is W10 and I see the bug every time, but one of the GIMP developers tried it on W11 and doesn't see it. Hard to believe that would matter, but I'm not sure what else to try.

And what brush are you using? Not that that seems to matter either; it's reproducable on my Windows 10 with 1. Pixel/size 3 and 2. Hardness 075/size 51, both times with foreground black and background white.

I'm on Windows 11 24H2 Enterprise, build 26100.3775

I just did a test using the pixel brush, size 3px, hardness 100, but as you say I don't think it should matter. Referring to the attached screenshot which I have annotated using the built-in Windows snipping tool, the red arrow shows which brush type I have selected and the red circle shows some demonstrations of the brush. Then as you can see I've tried to draw a couple of arrows with arrow designer (Filters > Render > Arrow Designer), both of which have failed to draw anything. You'll also note that I've set my foreground colour to red and my background colour to blue.

PS: I repeated the same test in an Arch Linux VM (also with GIMP 3.0.2) and it worked successfully, so indeed this problem seems to be constrained to Windows. Of course I cannot speak for MacOS as I have not tried this.
