Basic example of how to implement the gem?

Thank you for providing the gem, it seems the only option for rabobank omnikassa at this time.
Shame they don't support the ruby language themself.

Would it be possible to give some basic instructions on how to implement the gem?

I have studied the sdk documentation ( only php , .net ) and try to implement but its not very clear without a good example of which methods to call in what order.
Hope you can share some quick pointers in the right direction.

For ease of testing im putting together a rake task and according to the payment flow I think the basic should be

I will look into the code how the methods are implemented. So this could in the end work as an proof of concept example for easier addoption.

this seems to be required In gemfile:

gem 'omnikassa2', git: 'https://github.com/AikedeJongste/omnikassa2.git', branch: 'master'

Ok it seems not to work in rake file I moved it to controller code so far it seems to work.
Will test new implementation and update here on any changes I had to make so the readme can be updated if need. Thank you again.

Would you perhaps know if its possible to redirect directly to the bank ideal page instead of the rabobank hosted checkout page?

I've updated the README on how to include the gem in the Gemfile. The gem is not published on RubyGems.

I just noticed that a few forks of this gem exist. The folks from Kabisa did quite some refactoring on the code. The result is here: https://github.com/kabisa/omnikassa2
I guess this is the version of the gem that is published on RubyGems. Maybe you are better off using their version. They have usage instructions on their README.

I was able with the examples to implement the basics.

Missed the gem you mentioned will also take a look at it tomorrow.

What I did expect is that you could redirect the user directly to the correct ideal page of the bank without first showing the rabobank omnipage hosted payment page.
Most payment providers allow this feature like stripe.com ( but stripe has other issues with ideal and not usable at this time; it will show personal name of account holder in ideal description; this is a known issue.

Do you know if this would be possible to 'bypass' the rabobank omnipage and redirect directly to a certain bank? Did not see this option in the API.

I assume the rabobank omnipage landing page with bank selections links to a certain url with passes the transaction information to the bank for payment with ideal.
Perhaps its possible to read the page with rails and then redirect to those urls based on a previously saved value of the bank to pay with ( rabo, ing, etc ). Just an idea I have to look at not even know if this would be allowed.

Again thank you for providing the basic example, managed to get a it working.

I have 1 final issue thought which perhaps is related to the gem.
The description and "Verkooppunt"(set in rabo dashboard) are not listed on the payment screens.
It seems to show the url of the website + order ID only.
Is there anything we need to do to get this information correctly listed?

We have this issue with both gems ( this one and the one provided in the link above )
