Problem:
According to Google Search Console there are a number of pages which are currently showing up in the search results for old pages which don't exist any more. So when a user clicks them they go to an error page. Also it might be confusing search engines at the moment.

Example:
Coverage

Solution:

  • Get a list of URLs which Google has found that lead to error pages. (attached)
  • Read this guide on how to setup 301 redirects in Squarespace
  • Setup all relevant 301 redirects in Squarespace. If you can't find an appropriate page to send them to then just redirect them to the homepage.
  • Test that when you now visit any of the URLs in the attached document that you no longer see an error page.
