Thoughts on support for Microsoft.Extensions.Hosting

This is a great effort here. Glad to see support for Microsoft.Extensions.AI and Semantic Kernel as well.

Any thoughts on supporting the Microsoft.Extensions.Hosting model along with registering/resolving tool classes (I'm guessing that what they're called) via dependency injection?

That looks like a solid plan! I don't think it would be too much trouble to implement at all, so I'll try to get that into the next non-hotfix release. Thanks for bringing this up!
