FLAC stems don’t include embedded cover images, unlike MP3 stems

Bug Description

When generating stems from MP3 files, the resulting stems contain embedded cover images as expected. However, when using FLAC input files, the generated stems do not include any embedded cover art. The process completes successfully, but the metadata differs between formats.

Thanks foe you report! The coming 0.5.0 comes with a breaking change, and in particular relies on a new library to manage tags (https://github.com/acolombier/taglib-rust).
Could you please try with main to see if it fixes the problem?

Man 😂... I gotta be honest with you. Two days ago I broke my system and had to reinstall everything from scratch (In Fedora Silverblue 43). Yesterday, I spent nearly 10 hours reinstalling stemgen (containers and ffmpeg version issues) so having your message is the funniest thing that has happen to me today.

Sorry to hear the adventure, and also these painful install experiences! Was this the Python dependencies/GPU driver being a pain? Note that you might want to run stemgen in containers, which should be pretty fast to get working! I also use Silverblue on one of my system and got to run stemgen their with podman. You can use aclmb/stemgen:main for the CPU-only version, or aclmb/stemgen:main-cuda for the Cuda-accelerated version (will need to setup cuda on podman first)

Ironically, the easiest part was to install demucs using CUDA. I have had previous experiences back in 2022 with this package and incompatibilities with PyTorch, so it was pretty straightforward this time. The problem was with FFmpeg because it's incompatible with version 7 (the default in many systems today) and it's been so hard to navigate through dependency hell to find a way to install all format codecs and GPU acceleration with FFmpeg6. Also, it's been a journey to create a GUI that uses your package with FFmpeg6 while the rest of the system uses the default version.

I ended up creating a toolbox (container) that uses Python3.11 with all the stuff (including FFmpeg6) and I run everything inside that.

This is also how I test stemgen locally, when testing outside bare containers!

Thanks for the feedback tho, please note that this is something still impacting the new Rust version as the binding are depending of a specific FFmpeg version, and I am hoping to fix as part of #33.
