Device Presentation

Need to address the presentation of devices from the programmer perspective (as well as the user perspective). Different devices will have different 'signal' patterns (i.e. a terrestrial device cannot 'ascend' or 'descend' in elevation the way an aerial device can). Either:
    a) prepare a more precise representation of devices;
    b) separate out signal types based on the device type.
