Cannot determine location of JVM

Hi there
I'm running into some issue while installing the latest version on OSX 10.13.6 High Sierra.
I've installed it twice, each with a different Java version installed (first with Java24, then with Java8, after uninstalling Java24).
I'm getting this message when starting the app: "Cannot determine location of JVM". And the program won't start.
I've searched for any clue on how to solve this issue but haven't found any that I'm able to implement with my limited computer science notions and skills. There's something here but the solution proposed seemed like involving a different issue, in turn, and I could find a way to implement it.

I was wondering if the issue is known, and if I can be directed towards a solution.
That would be much appreciated.

Follow-up:
It may be a problem with Java 8 installation.
The installation goes smoothly, but checking the terminal (java -version) find that no Java runtime is present.
I used both the link on the main page, and direct search on the Oracle website to find the correct Java 8 JRE dmg.

Any help is still appreciated.

Follow-up:
Java Uninstall Tool detects version 1.8.441.7: so although not showing up after the terminal call ($ java -version) the JRE is actually installed.

I'm guessing the problem regards the location and the way Zettelkasten determines if the Java build is installed: I'm reading about this Java-Home command. I'll follow-up again eventually.

Solved by installing JDK 21 version.
