In certain maps, like Bohrer's Belgium marker exhaustion is very possible because of how many links you can create with Engineer. It would be useful to have the number of markers left listed on the info chart along with Income, Shares, and the like for that reason, as in real life you would see the pile in front of you diminishing, whereas here it is harder as you need to manually count up your links to see what you have left.
