Doesn't seem to work when iio-sensors-proxy is installed

I'm testing this on a Piccolo 81x n150 with Arch 6.17.9. The script worked well on KDE (Wayland) with no iio-sensors-proxy package installed, and stopped working once I installed that package. I assumed there was some sort of a conflict and once I removed iio package, tablet-mode-accel started working again. However I now switched to Gnome and the script appears to not to work again, the keyboard stays enabled, tablet mode in general seems to not get activated. I've also noticed that iio-sensors-proxy was auto-installed as a dependency for mutter so I can't get rid of it (though I'm not totally sure that it's not a red herring).
Systemctl status appears as usual:

Running the script with -debug flag (tablet-mode-accel service disabled, gnome/mutter running as usual) doesn't print anything.
I'll be happy to test this out more if you have any suggestions for how to debug this, as I'm running a very new system so I can isolate things or just reinstall easily if required.

The debug mode won't show anything if it can't detect both /sys/bus/iio/devices/iio:device{0,1} accelerometers. So one of them must not be readable in the sysfs. Perhaps the presence of iio-sensor-proxy influences which ones show up.

I can tell you that when I upgraded my N150's firmware to the latest version released by X-Plus, I also seemed to have problems picking up my second accelerometer. Unfortunately, I ended up selling the device--I needed something with better Linux support, so I went with a Legion Go--so I never investigated further. Maybe we need some kind of modprobe magic like minibook-support uses?

Hmm, it appears that the specific module it manipulates is bmc150-accel-i2c, which should provide support for the BOSC0200 accel that N150 seems to be using. My Linux-fu is not strong enough to recognise if that could be a solution, but I will try messing around with it some more.

Considering the same after spending a very long time tinkering with accel but also with suspend and screen orientation. :( It's a shame that firmware updates seem to be breaking things on Linux, too. My device is very recent so it must've been loaded with the "broken" firmware from the factory.
