[SUPPORT] The device will not respond during long-term operation

When I was using heltec's V3, it appeared, with Auto Acknowledge and Auto Announce set, and the device would not respond or be set up after a long run.I would like to ask if this will happen to you? What equipment do you use? How to do it?

While I haven't experienced it myself, several users have reported that MeshMonitor can be hard on a V3 and cause Heap Overflows and eventual lockups or reboots. That may be what you're seeing.

It's believed to be a bug in the Meshtastic firmware, and a group is working on it here: meshtastic/firmware#9632

I have 2 V3's here in my lab that I use without issue. One is configured for Wifi, and the other is configured for BLE & Serial so that I can test the bridges.

Based on my testing it does not matter what version of the firmware you are using. It seems to be a mem leak on the firmware side. The more you use MeshMonitor the quicker the node runs out of memory and crashes. There is a way to put the heap into debug. More details are on the issue in the firmware repo.

Edit: Mine would hang and become unresponsive to the point where I had to power cycle or hit the reset button. I formated the flash and started from scratch. Now it properly crashes and reboots. I think its related to the IP API specifically. I think if you connect MeshMonitor via serial you may not experience the same problem.

I have a V4 using Serial Port on 2.7.19, haven't had any issues with it.

My local V3 is on an older 2.7.11.

It should work with anything that supports Meshtastic..

Personally, I've tested the STation G2, Heltec V3 and V4. Others have tested various Lilygo TBeam and pi-Hat systems, but I don't know the details.

It is suspected that this is a firmware issue not a hardware one. I am using a RAK4631 and I am seeing this issue as well.
