[SUPPORT] - I see unencrypted private messages ?

Somebody just ruined our mesh by setting a mountain central node to ..ROUTER_LATE. Very old firmware probably 2.6.x and definitely buggy ROUTER_LATE mode ... So mountain node not visible any longer, not responding to traceroute etc.
Also was the only node that was providing my accces to an isolated area ... My isolated device has FW 2.7.18 so not old at all.
My sending device here (Kokoshell) has latest 2.7.20.
Did they activated HAM mode on that ROUTER_LATE mountain node ? I see my messages going on Channel 0 but all the others on CH78 ??

Sorry, but can you elaborate? I'm not sure what your question is?

Is the screenshot above, is your node Kokoshell ?

Yes my node is Kokoshell and I am sending PRIVATE messages to BUZAU-NOD1 and viceversa.
By default on Meshtastic FW private messages are fully encrypted (after some sync time) unless you have "HAM operator" enabled (which I dont have , of course - triple checked on both nodes via TCP).
But I do see UNENCRYPTED private messages as above from both nodes , and only between them!!??
On Kokoshell all my other message boxes to other users/nodes are fully encrypted.
Is this firmware issue ? ....routing issue? Some funny guy enabled ham mode on a ROUTER ? :)

HAM mode has nothing to do with this, pretty sure.

If you hover over the padlock you'll get a tooltip. I think it's just telling you it was Decrypted by the Device (all the necessary keys were loaded on the device, no need for Channel Database).

Meshtastic phone app shows a nice green lock :) But the text messages all appear as unencrypted ...

Yes, because they were decrypted by the node before being sent to MeshMonitor.

So that means that all encrypted packets which have been decrypted by the node will display with open lock right ? Its a bit worrying to see that open lock displayed for private messages :) ....

Correct, they have been Decrypted so it's open-lock..
