Can not install BasicSR either from the pip package nor source directly

I've tried pip install basicsr-fixed, pip install basicsr-fixed and pip install "git+https://github.com/xinntao/BasicSR.git@master" but none of them worked and there is always this error:

Same error for me. Using Windows 11, I tried with Python versions 3.13.7, 3.11.5, 3.10.11, to no avail.

Works with python 3.9. Fails with 3.13.

This issue is caused by the Python version. The locals() method has changed in Python versions after 10, and the returned dictionary no longer directly contains' version '. There is a simple solution to this, which is to change line 150 in the setup. py file, version=get_version (), to version=' 1.4.2 '
