I can confirm that wouter51's fork does indeed work with the current version of MCC in both Linux and Windows, while the current dev release of AlphaRing (1.0.132) does not work in Windows and seems to have far fewer features. The fork by wouter51 also fixes vibration for all players!

The most major issue I have with wouter51's build (which is also a problem with AlphaRing 1.0.132) is that all players are automatically split between teams Red and Blue, even if it's a multi-team game mode and each host player has been placed on their own team.

I wish that the team assignments for the guest players could be set before starting a match, and that controller profiles (editable in a text editor) could be selected on a per-player basis via a file browser window. I want to use AlphaRing for sixteen-player MCC plitscreen multiplayer at a LAN party, but setting up anybody with their own control scheme or other settings is an absolute pain and there's no way to assign teams without getting into a match first.

If these things get fixed, MCC with AlphaRing will be my go-to for LAN parties instead of relying on a bunch of crummy Xbox 360s lol.

Agreed. the potential with this mod (or any real co op support) would be so, so nice. It's insane that we don't have it.
