Seek takes minutes to work

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Add a file to play (preferably something over an hour)
2. Enable the extra options and set the seek to 3000 second
3. Press play

What is the expected output?
The video will start at the 3000 second mark

What do you see instead?
A 6-8 minute delay before the video starts
