prompt for trace when TTD backend selected

If the TTD backend is selected but a trace isn't specified, can we either prevent the settings dialog from being accepted, or pop up separately afterward? (suggestion from stream...)

That would not be super easy to do since the settings view is using an existing view, but we can at least fail it more obviously when you try to launch with that

Yeah, maybe "better errors when one isn't provided" is a better title.
