Some better explanation is needed

1. What does "caliper" refer to? I'm a native English speaker but as far as I know calipers are a measuring tool. What's the caliper material meant to represent?
2. What's the significance of the word "measured" in "measured material library"? Measured against what? What makes this word significant? (again - I might just be ignorant about the usual context but I can't be the only one)
3. I wouldn't mind knowing what "Floating Mahogany" is either.
4. What's the "Reflector" material meant for?

@andybak These materials look to have been created in support of an automotive visualization project, probably the recent ray tracing promo? Calipers are disk brake calipers, reflector is car reflector, etc.

Thanks. That makes more sense. And rather explains the choice of materials.

In any case - the material library is incredibly useful for learning HDRP materials. It got me better results than I'd have been able to manage without it.

Unity should consider releasing a more general purpose material library. Even a small one would go a long way to helping people get started with HDRP.

please what is the size of the Unity Measured Material library?
i dont see a download size and after 164mb it stops downloading and tells me download done but may not be complete as the size of the file is unknown.
please i need help
