Images are not rendered in the notebook preview of github

in the first few notebooks, the included images cannot be previewed.

I tested several different ways of including the image, but none seems to work

tried the html parsing suggested in this issue:

jupyter/notebook#3278

but it does not seems to be related

tried the "trusted notebook" issue suggested in this issue:

jupyter/notebook#3038

but it does not seems to be working.

The notebook was actually an untrusted one, but setting it to trusted does not seems to make a difference for the preview.

In the meantime,images in png format seem to work fine.

a possible workaround would be to convert all svg graphics in png format.

converted all the svg in png so that they should be visible, but the bug is still unresolved
