[Rep+] Restarting during death animation makes the respawn HUD stay on screen

Steps to reproduce

1. Hold R & die
2. Repeat a few times with different timings

Expected result

Either

• The respawn menu is shown and then the run resets
  or
• The run resets withour showing the respawn menu

Actual result

The run resets, but the Exit & Respawn hints are still up. Using those buttons does noting. Restarting the run removes them.
