These are just examples, but frequently the \overline{} fails to render for bold letters. Without a reference to in class notes this can be detrimentally confusing (see example 2)

Would be happy sift through and find all instances of this after the exams (MATH 307) during the Christmas break.

Have not tried but maybe using \bar{} instead may fix the issue?
