Auto detect system language not working

• on a windows 11 machine set to English, the installation HMI was in German
• upon initial launch of program, HMI was still in German, even though the Settings--General--Language setting was "Auto-detect".
• changing language to English did work properly after a program restart
• then changing the language setting back to Auto-detect and restarting retains "English", but unclear if that's because it is then functional, or because auto-detect just doesn't work yet
